There was a time when eating out in Delhi was largely about the food. From the richness of butter chicken to the stories behind age-old spaces, and the thrill of discovering new cuisines. Today, there is a shift.
The capital’s dining scene is no longer just about what’s on the plate, but everything that surrounds it: the concept, the space, and what it’s built around. Restaurateurs are increasingly building worlds, not just menus—spaces where a cocktail comes with a backstory, the menu unfolds around a theme, and stepping in feels like stepping into a different world.
Delhi-NCR’s newest openings are leaning hard into this idea of immersive dining. From acai-based meals to a New York-style pizza spot, the city is embracing experiences that blur the lines between food, art, and cuisines, and we are here for it. These spaces are often even hyper-focused on doing only one item, but doing it well. This focus has brought to the city a new wave of preparations that we’ve never seen on menus before, making dining outside an experience more unique and exciting than ever before.
With new openings dropping at an almost dizzying pace, each one trying to outdo the last in authenticity and experience, Delhi’s dining scene has become a playground of ideas. And here are some you need to feed on.
Alienkind
If you’ve ever been far too curious about whether life beyond Earth actually exists, spoiler alert: you will not find your answers here. But your alien-fascinated itch might just get scratched.

Landing straight from Bengaluru to Delhi, this is the Alienkind spaceship’s first landing outside of the South, and you best believe we’re obsessed. Everything from the concept, the interiors, the fascinating presentation of food, and the oversaturated red is unlike much we’ve previously seen in the capital
Alienkind, as the name makes it rather obvious, is an alien-themed, futuristic, and strikingly red space. So, you best believe this isn’t your run-of-the-mill café or burger joint—it’s a UFO-themed hangout that wraps its menu and interiors around a playful extra-terrestrial concept, which is extremely hard to miss, and hence, the perfect space to surprise all your senses.
The Starship Burger is one of the most talked-about items. Why, you may ask? Because not only is it shaped like a starship, but it’s a burger that’s reportedly designed to be “no spill”, leaning closer to shawarma-style than a classic burger patty. Smoothies and juice-heavy drinks are another highlight at the space, with playful names and fruit-forward blends like Europa Bloom (mango + strawberry with beetroot powder) and Orion Mist (mixed berries). Other delicious items on the menu include Hyperslab Sandos, portal bagels with cream cheese and jalapeño, and dessert-style drinks.

Lyfberry
Ever heard of acai bowls that come from a berry extracted all the way from Brazil’s Amazon rainforest? If you have, then you’d be delighted to know that this new spot in Khan Market brings the authentic taste (and nutrients) of the fruit right to your doorstep.

Churned and chilled to perfection, the acai can be built into a specially-curated bowl of your choice, where you have the freedom to pick your choice each step of the way. From whey protein, matcha, coconut powder, and chia seed pudding, to almond or peanut butter, Nutella, chocolate chips, and tons and tons of fruit, there’s a world of choices (most of them being healthy) awaiting your preference. It’s crunchy, tangy, rich, and nutty all at once—the perfect blend of flavours all in one, aesthetically-arranged, berry-hued bowl.
My favourite part? The picture-perfect blueberries and strawberries perched atop each bowl, giving them their unique, Instagram-perfect look. While these bowls have been popular breakfast options for those residing abroad or those on vacation, with Lyfberry, the acia bowl comes to Delhi in its most authentic form, and you best believe we can’t wait to get our hands dirty!

Nubo
Tucked into Hauz Khas, Nubo is a sharp pivot from Delhi’s maximalist dining wave, and that’s exactly what makes it stand out. Nubo builds its identity around intentional simplicity: the space is clean, minimal, and designed to perfection, mirroring its core idea. Real, ingredient-led food that fits seamlessly into everyday urban life.

Think of it as the anti-indulgence indulgence: it’s quick and convenient, yet thoughtfully put together. Nubo is built around “fresh made simple” eating, with an emphasis on recognisable ingredients, no preservatives, and a format more about perfecting routine. In a city obsessed with excess, that kind of restraint feels refreshing.
On the menu, the customisable bowls are the stars of the show. These are packed with protein, offer many grains to choose from, enough greens to go around for everyone, as well as house-made dressings that are both hearty and clean. The wraps are another highlight, designed for grab-and-go, while the smoothies (made with real fruit and no artificial additives) and matcha-coffee lineup lean into the café’s wellness-forward identity.

Soda Shopp Bar
At first glance, this spot leans into pure nostalgia, but flips it into a bar experience. Think fizzy, childhood flavours reimagined as cocktails, fun glassware, and a space that feels equal parts retro and irreverent.

The concept is simple but clever: take your everyday “banta soda” from your childhood and turn it into an adult version. So, instead of just nimbu soda or kala khatta, you get a menu built around soda-forward cocktails. On the menu, some of the standouts include the Kala Khatta Soda cocktail, which reworks the classic street-side flavour into a grown-up drink. Other favourites include Rule Breaker, made with popcorn and jalapeño tequila, and Not So Sweet, a tequila, litchi, and white chocolate mix. Alongside, the food menu keeps things bar-friendly and approachable. Some of the go-to orders include Chicken Shumai Dimsums, Chilli Oil Burrata Pizza, and Truffle Frites.
In a city full of hyper-stylised, contemporary bars, Soda Shopp’s charm lies in how effortlessly it does nostalgia, and does it well!

Galaxy Slice Shop
Among the capital’s favourite pizzerias, Galaxy has just debuted a brand new spot in Vasant Vihar, perfect for all those who can never have enough of this cheese-filled dough.

Built around the idea of the iconic New York-style pizzas served as a giant slice all on its own, this space brings that same concept to the city, sans airfare, of course! On the menu, the standouts are the indulgent pizzas for which Galaxy is known. Their hot honey burrata pizza—a combination of creamy burrata, sweet heat, and a crisp base—is one of the most talked-about picks, alongside pesto-burrata variations and half-and-half pies that let you mix flavours in a single order. You’ll also find loaded options with smoked chicken, pepperoni, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes. The garlic bread has developed a bit of a cult following, too. It’s crispy, buttery, and generously flavoured.
It’s a Delhi favourite with a little bit of a twist, which is exactly why we can’t wait to get our hands on those giant slices.
